One day cranial and spinal skills and drills course with expert speakers and practical workshops. We aim to improve delegates knowledge on the theory and practice of external ventricular drain (EVD) insertion, intracranial pressure (ICP) bolt insertion, burrholes, craniotomy and decompressive craniectomy. We also aim to improve delegate’s understanding of spinal decompression, instrumentation and fusion.
The course will use high-fidelity cranial and spinal models to allow candidates to put the knowledge they have gained into practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for foundation doctors and SHOs to gain an insight into basic neurosurgical techniques. The course also allows junior neurosurgical trainees the chance to refine their skills.
